Respon Imun terhadap Infeksi Parasit Malaria

Abstract


Malaria is found scattered throughout the islands, especially in eastern Indonesia.Each year about 2.5 million people died, mostly children under five years old. Recently,malaria remains a cause of death of infants, toddlers and pregnant women. It alsodecreases productivity of infected person and tend to increase over the year. Theplasmodium infection causes immune response of host which can be seen as thepresence of inflammatory. immune protection may occur in malaria. There are twotypes of immune response against malaria parasites, innate immunity and acquiredimmunity. Acquired immunity occurs actively through host defense against infection;and passively from mothers to the baby. The immune response mechanism activate theability immune complements to suppress the ocurence of clinical symptoms andparasitemia.
