Abstract


ABSTRACTComparative study of Primojel® 2%, 5% & 8% to physical characteristics of tablet from dried extract of Murrayapaniculata (L.) Jack leaves has been investigated. Primojel® is one of the tablet excipients that acts as desintegrant.Dried extract Murraya paniculata (L.) Jack leaves was formulated with Primojel®, lactose, PVP K 30, magnesiumstearate and silika koloidal ; then pressed using direct compression method. Each formulae containeddifferent concentration of Primojel® i.e : F1 = 2%, F2 = 5% & F3 = 8%. The results for all formulae conformed withthe spesification. Statistical analysis (ANOVA & LSD on confidence level 5%) tend to showed significant differenceson parameter disintegration, friability, hardness, and weight uniformity of tablet, but no significant differenceson parameter dimension. Based on tablet desintegration, F3 could performed the best results.Key words: Murraya paniculata, tablet, Primojel®, direct compression, disintegration, dried estract

ABSTRAK Telah dilakukan penelitian membandingkan karakteristik fisik tablet ekstrak kering daun Murraya paniculata(L.) Jack dengan kadar Primojel®2%, 5% dan 8%. Primojel® adalah salah satu eksipien tablet yang bertindaksebagai desintegran. Ekstrak kering daun Murraya paniculata (L.) Jack diformulasikan bersama dengan Primojel®, laktosa, PVP K 30, magnesium stearat dan silica koloidal; kemudian di tekan menggunakan metodekompresi langsung. Masing-masing formula mengandung konsentrasi Primojel® yang berbeda yakni: F1=2%,F2=5%, F3=8%. Analisis statistik menggunakan ANOVA & LSD dengan tingkat kepercayaan 5% menunjukkanadanya perbedaan yang signifikan pada parameter disintegrasi, kerapuhan, kekuatan dan keseragaman berattablet tetapi tidak berbeda signifikan pada dimensi tablet. Berdasarkan disintegrasi tablet, F3 mempunyaiperfoma yang paling bagus.
