Abstract


ABSTRACT

Ekinase (Echinacea purpurea (L.) Moench) is known as medicinal plant that has immunostimulatory activity.Medicinal Plant and Traditional Medicine Research and Development Office have been introducing ekinase since2002 from Germany. From then ten accessions of E. purpurea were found based on their morphological variation.Three accessions of them are decided as promising accessions i.e. BH2, BHU3 dan BHU5. The objective ofthis research was to observe morphological variation of promising accessions (BH2, BHU3 dan BHU5) from massselection year I. Those accessions were cultivated in different locations having similar environmental condition.Observation were done on morphological characters of three promising accessions of ekinase (BH2, BHU3 danBHU5) from mass selection year I. The result showed that there were 8 variants yielded from two accession (6variants from BH2 and 2 variants from BHU3). Those variants had morphological differences from parental accessionsespecially in their inflorescences.

ABSTRAK

Ekinase (Echinacea purpurea (L.) Moench) dikenal sebagai tanaman obat yang memiliki aktivitas imunostimulan.Balai Besar Litbang Tanaman Obat dan Obat Tradisional telah mengintroduksi tanaman ekinase sejaktahun 2002 yang diperoleh dari Jerman. Berdasarkan variasi morfologi yang ditemukan diperoleh sepuluhaksesi E. purpurea. Tiga aksesi ditetapkan sebagai aksesi harapan yaitu BH2, BHU3 Dan BHU5. Tujuan daripenelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui variasi morfologi aksesi harapan (BH2, BHU3 dan BHU5) dari hasilpenanaman Tahap I. Semua aksesi ditanam di lokasi yang berbeda yang memiliki kondisi lingkungan yangsama. Pengamatan dilakukan pada karakter morfologi dari tiga aksesi harapan (BH2, BHU3 dan BHU5) daripenanaman Tahap I. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada 8 varian yang dihasilkan dari dua aksesi (6 variandari BH2 dan 2 varian dari BHU3). Mereka memiliki perbedaan variasi morfologi dari tetuanya terutamadalam perbungaan.
