KRANGEAN (Litsea cubeba (Lour.) Persoon): ASPEK AGRONOMI, PENGGUNAAN SECARA TRADISIONAL, BIOAKTIFITAS DAN POTENSINYA

Abstract


ABSTRACT

Litsea cubeba (Lour) Persoon is one of aromatic plant famous in Indonesian is krangean or ki lemo. Krangeanhas been used as aniconvulsant, cough medicine, antispasmodic, ans spices. Chemical element of essential oilcomponent from leaf, cortex, or seed have observed an identified. Krangean oil is used in food indtusties, cosmeticand cigarette. The main component of essential oil of krangean is usefull for raw material to product ionone,methyl-ionone, vitamin A and E. Utilization of plant ekstract is still limited in the societies. This paper is dicuse abreavely agronomy aspect, traditional utilization, bio activity in scientifically proved and possibility of krangeandevelopment, so it can get more economic value at the society.

ABSTRAK

Litsea cubeba (Lour) Persoon merupakan salah satu tanaman aromatis yang dikenal di Indonesia sebagaikrangean atau ki lemo. Krangean mempunyai khasiat sebagai antikonvulsan, batuk, antispasmodik dan sebagaibumbu. Kandungan kimia dalam krangean adalah minyak atsiri yang terdapat pada daun, kulit batang,atau biji. Minyak krangean digunakan dalan industri makanan, kosmetik dan rokok. Komponen utama minyakatsiri krangean digunakan untuk bahan baku produk ionone, metil ionone, vitamin A dan E. Pemanfaatan ekstrak tumbuhan krangean masih sangat terbatas di masyarakat. Makalah ini akan mendiskusikan aspek agronomi, penggunaan secara tradisional, bioaktivitas dan pengembangan krangean sehingga akan menjadinilai tambah dalam masyarakat.
