Abstract
ABSTRACTMelaleuca bracteata F. Muell belongs to the family Myrtaceae, commonly called black tea tree. Theplant’s leaf is used to make poultices for infected wounds and skin disorders. This study was conductedto find out the chemical composition of the essential oils of the leaves from Melaleuca bracteata F. Muell.The essential oils from fresh leaves of Melaleuca bracteata F. Muell. were obtained by hydrodistillationwith Stahl distillation method (yield 0.6% v/w) and analyzed by gas chromatography mass spectroscopy(GC-MS). The major chemical compounds identified were, methyleugenol (58,29%), Linalool (23.17%),o-cymene (4,45%), estragole l (4,19%), methyl cinnamate (4,08%), and 1,8-cineole (3,70%) respectively.
ABSTRAKMelaleuca bracteata F.Muell termasuk dalam famili Myrtaceae, biasa disebut black tea tree. Secaraempiris digunakan untuk mengobati kulit yang terinfeksi dan gangguan kulit lainnya. Penelitian inidilakukan untuk mengetahui komposisi kimia dari minyak atsiri daun M. bracteata yang tumbuhdi Tawangmangu. Minyak atsiri dari daun segar M. bracteata diperoleh dengan menggunakanmetode destilasi Stahl (rendemen 0,6% v/w) dan dianalisis dengan kromatografi gas spektroskopimassa (GC-MS). Senyawa kimia utama yang diidentifikasi adalah methyl eugenol (58,29%), linalool(23.17%), o-cymene (4,45%), estragole (4,19%), methyl cinnamate (4,08%), dan 1,8-cineole (3,70%).Kata kunci: Melaleuca bracteata F.Muell, minyak atsiri, GC-MS
